When you step out of your front door you expect your car to be there. When you flip a light switch you expect the light to come on. When you walk into Starbucks you expect a coffee...
What if you don't get what you expect, then what?
People expect things of us.
Our bosses expect us to turn up an time and give them their money's worth. Our friends expect hours of endless entertainment. Our family expect us to smile politely at family gatherings and our partners expect us to be what they percieve us to be.
Perception and Expectation, the two are interlinked yet usually way off when it comes to it. I have a perception of the way my boss will behave at a social event, however when it comes to it does my boss expect me to have a pressumed perception of him/her?
I have a perception of me, i assume everyone else may not feel the same but i expect to be treated the same as anyone else walking this planet. If this were true tho there would never have been hitler or saddam....i don't think.
Does the internet allow us to put accross the us we wish we could be/want to be, like self fulfilling prophecy, becoming one's best in mind, then somehow becoming better in reality, eventually?
Do we think just being us is enough anymore, do we judge others by our own inflated standards....standards that we inflate through a mixture of perceptions and expectations...is this fair?...think about it.
